Someone mentioned they had seen something land in the ditch. So
after everyone had packed up and gone home, I went and looked where
they had pointed. Lo and behold, here was the head end of Steve's
motor casing:

Pictures provided for the purpose of determining cause of CATO.
Looks like overheating to me. I did that in some of my
aluminum-nozzle motors before learning the virtues of a case liner.
